Silobolsa PLASTAR represents a technique designed to store grains, seeds, fertilizers, and fodders with a high degree of moisture for animal nutrition.
The Silobolsa technique is a system of silage bags manufactured by Plastar San Luis S.A. and co-extruded in three layers. When dry grain is stored, the respiration process consumes oxygen, creating a stable atmosphere low in oxygen and rich in carbon dioxide. These conditions prevent the growth of insects or micro-organisms inside the Silobolsa.
SAVINGS
The use of the Silobolsa system saves on commercialization costs and solves the lack of storage space and the logistics problems that arise at harvest time.
CONSERVATION
The use of the Silobolsa system saves on commercialization costs and solves the lack of storage space and the logistics problems that arise at harvest time.
QUALITY
Dry grains and pulses routinely stored in SILOBOLSA® Plastar bags include soybeans, corn, wheat, sorghum, barley, rice, beans, sunflower and rapeseed, amongst others. The modified atmosphere inside the Silobolsa conserves the quality of the grains.
VERSATILITY
Grains routinely used for fodder include: corn, sorghum and green chop. Storage of these grains in silo bags produces lactic fermentation, conserving nutritional properties similar to those in the original grain.
SILOBAG
The silo bag is designed to optimize harvests. Manufactured especially for storing dry grains and fodders, the high capacity Silo Bag also helps lower operating costs.
APPLICATION AND CROPS
With silo bag, different types of fodders, seeds and grain qualities can be separated, creating cost benefits.

BENEFITS
-
Allows dosing silo content for animal feeding, thus reducing losses caused by oxidation.
-
Optimizes your harvest, reducing yield losses caused by transport delays or weather conditions.
- With silo bag, different types of fodders, seeds and grain qualities can be separated, creating cost benefits.

GRAIN
MOIST
The MOIST GRAIN silo bag optimizes harvests, manufactured to store moist grains, for dairy barns in production, feeders (wintering) and calf fattening (early weaning).
APPLICATION AND CROPS
It is used in crushers and moist grain baggers. It also allows for storage of alfalfa, spent malt, industrial byproducts, dry fine-grain cereals stocking, among others, as well as for stocking fertilizers and spent malt. Crops traditionally reserved as moist grain and most commonly used are corn and sorghum.
%
BENEFITS
-
Early harvest: harvest can take place between 30 and 45 days earlier than normal, depending on the crop and the degree of moisture desired.
-
Early pasture release, enabling unconventional crop rotation.
-
Improves management of pastures for fodder, producing highly nutritive fodders which can be stored and longer fallow periods.
-
Fodder is stored near the place of use, easily available and crushed in advance for direct animal feed.
-
Lower loss due to birds. This is particularly beneficial for free- or low-tannin sorghum, since harvest takes place before loss to birds.

ELASTIC TUBES
This bag is used to store moist grass rolls. Both gramineous (oat, ray grass, rescue grass, sorghum, etc.) and leguminous (alfalfa, clover, etc.) plants can be stored.
APPLICATION AND CROPS
Green feed production in cattle farming. Next winter, make sure your farm has green grass. Used to store moist grass rolls. Both gramineous (oat, ray grass, rescue grass, sorghum, etc.) and leguminous (alfalfa, clover, etc.) plants can be stored.
BENEFITS
-
Improves conservation and use of grass rolls
-
Features the best technique for pasture surpluses in general.
-
This silo bag can stretch and return to its original size thanks to its elastic-memory. It also eliminates oxygen pockets for good anaerobic fermentation.
-
Es una «Técnica Oportunista» porque no necesita una programación de tiempo anticipada para el corte, pudiéndose utilizar en cualquier época del año.

Pit covers
The BICOLOR is a three-layer plastic film mainly used for wheat or sorghum in bunker, trench and drive-over pile silos.
APPLICATION AND CROPS
These plastic films are manufactured in widths up to 12 meters and thicknesses ranging from 150 to 500 microns. Plastic films with a thickness of 150-200 microns are mainly used to cover wheat or sorghum bunker silos. Thicker plastic films (500 microns) are used in storehouse roofs as a replacement for corrugated metal sheets or in storehouses used for winter lambing, etc.
La capa blanca se debe colocar hacia el exterior. Esto hace que la temperatura que adopta sea mucho menor, con lo que se reduce notablemente la permeabilidad y se evita la «quema» del material que está en contacto con ella.
BENEFITS
-
Bicolor, three-layer plastic film ensuring higher mechanical strength and more resistance to weather.
-
Any kind of crop can be ensiled (pasture, green forage, soy, wheat, corn, sorghum, etc.).
-
Conserves all nutritional characteristics of the original crop in the best way.
-
Easily compatible with silage additives (salts, urea, bacteria, etc.) at the time of manufacture.
